Return to Jack-n-Paul Home Page
One day we drove around the smaller half of the island.
Our first stop was this park. Greg & Jack pointing to the obvious. There is a small shrine at the top of a long, easy stairway. This was our first stop on the drive around the Island.
However, I didn't take any pictures after we left here. Oh well. Believe when I say it was all beautiful. See me taking a picture? I'm taking a picture of Greg taking this picture. Here's the picture I took. Jack near the Ioa Needle restrooms. This aquarium was highly recommended to Guy and it was on his "must do" list. It was a very nice set of exhibits. We rented those "self guided tour" head phone.
But it was just way TMI (too much information). I almost didn't go to the aquarium. I wanted to go to the Sugar Cane Museum.
Never did make it there. Now I have another reason to go back to Maui. No pictures, but at one point you are in front of huge tank with a floor-to-ceiling window.
There are scuba divers inside that have microphones so they talk with the crowd.
It was neat. Then you walk through a "glass tunnel" with everything swimming around. Also at the aquarium that had a nice
restaurant where we had lunch. I could not bring myself to eat one of the many seafood offerings... I just had fruit salad served in a carved out pineapple. The TrendWest time share condo was great.
This shows the dining area and front door entrance. I didn't get pictures of the two bed rooms, two bath rooms, the Murphy bed, nor the living room.
Six people could stay here. This was the kitchen. It had every thing you needed to cook and serve meals.
Although all we cooked was microwave popcorn. Being a condo, we didn't get room service or daily maid service.
But with a phone call, they would bring fresh towels and linens. Tivo towels. Greg and Guy turned Jack and me on to Tivo. (Tivo is a very special TV recording device and subscription service.) I bought these towels online and gave them to Greg and Guy when they came to our house a few weeks earlier to plan our trip. This is a stupid movie. It is about 1 meg
if you download it. In the parking lot of the condo was this fisheye mirror.
Every time we drove in or out of the parking lot we would drive up
to the mirror and wave at ourselves. Goofballs. We were in Hawaii just before Christmas.
I guess everyone can celebrate and decorate how ever they want.
But I found it a little appalling to see Victorian style setups and such a references to northern European stuff.
These lights were at a hotel in Wialea. We were on Maui for one
week: December 14-21, 2002. Jack had been to Maui several
times in the past, but not since about 1995. This was my first
time to Maui, but I had been to other islands in 1998 and 1981.
This was Greg's first visit to Hawaii. Guy lived in Hawaii for a
year or so back in the 1970's.
